The BrainModes meeting is an
annual meeting
which seeks to explore
innovative means of understanding complex brain activity and multimodal
neuroscience data sets. The inaugural BrainModes meeting was held in
Berlin in 2007, followed by Amsterdam in 2008, Bristol in 2009. The
objective of these meetings is to foster informal discussion of brain
modeling and multivariate data analysis (EEG, MEG, fMRI, etc). The
central motif is that of "modes" – that is, understanding how complex
brain activity is organized around low dimensional manifolds.
The IVth event in this tradition will take place in December 2010 at the
Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby (north Copenhagen).

in mathematical modelling and experiments in neuroscience.

Contributed Talks and Posters:
Participants are invited to contribute their recent results in all
areas of neuroscience (including mathematical techniques which could
be useful in neuroscience). A limited number of contributions will be
selected for oral presentation.
Please send an abstract (half page A4, 12pt, ASCII only) including a
title and co-authors to j.starke(at)mat.dtu.dk before November 30,
2010.
For PhD Students: 2.5 ECTS points:
PhD students can obtain
2.5 ECTS points for full participation in the BrainModes meeting and
submission of solutions to given problems before January 31, 2011.

Schedule:
The conference will
start on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 9 am and end on Saturday,
December 11 in the evening.

The fees cover access to the scientific sessions,
coffee breaks and one dinner.
The fee is to be paid in advance by registration. Students are
asked to present their student ID upon arrival.

Financial Support:
There will be limited funds to support scientists from less-favoured
countries and young researchers. Please apply with a detailed
argumentation why you want to participate and a detailed cv in pdf-format.
